I am also a PsyPact participating provider, which means I can legally see clients in any of these states via telehealth: <a href=\"https:\/\/psypact.org\/mpage\/psypactmap\">https:\/\/psypact.org\/mpage\/psypactmap<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Education and Experience<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>I completed my Bachelor of Arts with High Distinction (&#8217;05), Master of Arts (&#8217;07) and PhD (&#8217;12) all at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Go Big Red!).<\/p>\n<p>My clinical experiences have spanned across a variety of sites, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Private Practice, 2012-current<\/li>\n<li>Nebraska Wesleyan Counseling Center, 2012-2016<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 26.666667938232422px;\">Center for Health and Counseling- Creighton University, Omaha, NE (Pre-doctoral internship)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 26.666667938232422px;\">Counseling and Psychological Services- University of Nebraska-Lincoln<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 26.666667938232422px;\">Women&#8217;s Center- University of Nebraska-Lincoln<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 26.666667938232422px;\">Northeast High School- Lincoln, NE\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 26.666667938232422px;\">Hope Spoke, Lincoln, NE\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 26.666667938232422px;\">St. Monica&#8217;s Behavioral Health Services, Lincoln, NE\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Other stuff you may (or may not) want to know about me<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em><strong>Why psycholo<\/strong><\/em><em><strong>gy?<\/strong><\/em> I was hooked after taking Psych 101 in college. The realm of human minds, emotion, and change was the most fascinating thing I&#8217;d ever encountered (and still is that to me). I added it as a major and there was no looking back.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Why therapy? <\/strong><\/em>I truly love connecting with people. Giving others the space to feel heard, validated, and sometimes challenged is an honor and a gift.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>But who are you, really?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/em>Dr. Allison is basically just Everyday Allison, but with earrings and maybe <em>(MAYBE)<\/em> a nicer shirt. I&#8217;m straightforward and casual in my approach, and that&#8217;s because I don&#8217;t think therapy or psychology should be mysterious or elusive, nor do I think <em>I\u00a0<\/em>need to be anything but who I am. Note: This doesn&#8217;t mean I talk to clients like I would with friends, because therapy isn&#8217;t about me. The work of therapy is centered on client need. I watch every Husker volleyball game, I&#8217;m constantly covered in pet hair (four rescue pets= I&#8217;ve given up), and I&#8217;m also a published author.
